AGE In 2013-14, offender rates were highest in the 15-19 year age group (with 5,057 offenders per 100,000 persons aged 15-19 years). Between 2012-13 and 2013-14, offender rates decreased for youth offenders (10-19 years) and increased for adult offenders. However, in terms of overall offender rates, as age increased, the offender rate decreased. Males aged 15-19 years had the highest offender rate at 7,572 offenders per 100,000 males aged 15-19 years. The highest offender rate for females was also for those aged 15-19 years, at 2,381 offenders per 100,000 females aged 15-19 years. With the exception of offenders aged 10-14 years, male offender rates were at least three times higher than the rates for female offenders in each age group.
